WHAT WE BUILD
The European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT) is the first of Ten Regional Centers being established around the world based on the initiative of the International Taskforce for Women and ICTs (ITF) , a Community of expertise under UN GAID and the ITF’s ‘Bold Global Multi Stakeholder Strategy and Action-plan to bring about a major break-through in regard to women's participation in the knowledge-based economy’. The ECWT will function as a Regional Point of Contact for issues related to women and technology.
The ECWT implements its strategy in Europe through a National Point of Contact (N-PoC) in every European country functioning as a national platform of multi-stakeholders to ensure women's full participation in ICT and related sectors.
WHAT WE DO
We initiate and lead European level, national and regional projects and activities, and develop services between key stakeholders to bring about a major break-through and measurably and significantly increase the participation of women in education, entrepreneurship, workforce and leadership in the ICT and related sectors until the year 2020.
The ECWT is a key actor for implementing the Digital Agenda and the Europe 2020 strategy.
The ECWT is led by the desire to collaborate with and give added value to already existing structures and organizations, by sharing knowledge and best practices and creating synergies, leveraging resources, research and progress.
