Half way through in the Grundtvig LLL program project European Women Interactive Learning (EWIL) the European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT) hosted the third project meeting in Drammen the 15-16 of September 2011.
The basic aim of the EWIL learning partnership is to identify more effective forms of non – formal education directed to women, in order to obtain a double impact: to stimulate women’s motivation to learn and to raise the quality of education opportunities directed to women in non-formal contexts, with a view to fight women marginalization in society and to open up opportunities in the job market in emerging sectors.
The partners intend
- To put together their complementary competences for the assessment of innovative learning opportunities exploiting innovative ICT tools and interactive multimedia;
- To collaboratively design a practical learning experience in the cultural sector based on interactive ICT solutions and
- To disseminate their experiences through different channels, including social networks and platforms based on the Internet 2.0 and 3.0.
The Drammen meeting focused on evaluation of the on-line survey carried out by the partners in France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Norway and Turkey about the ICT user experiences and needs of women 35+. The survey was answered by around 4500 respondents of which 2500 from the target group. Based on survey outcomes partners agreed on the action-plan for the second year of the project.

The full day working meeting was complemented with information about the work of the European Centre for Women and Technology and an overview about the Norwegian Adult education. On the second day of the study visit EWIL partners visited Hønefoss and Gol Upper Secondary School, both good examples of effective ICT use in schools and in adult education in specific.

The three remaining meetings in EWIL will take place in 2012 in January in France, in April in Turkey and the final conference in Italy in June to which latter one the EWIL Partnership welcomes other projects within the same portfolio.
