European Gender Summit

The European Gender Summit is held under the auspices of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and is supported by the European Commission through the Science and Society Programme (FP7). The event is supported by a range of high-level partners and patrons from different sectors and backgrounds (see our list of Patrons and Partners). The European Gender Summit is organised jointly by genSET - gender in science, the European Science Foundation and the European Cooperation in Science and Technology.

The 5th International Conference on Interdisciplinarity in Education ICIE’10 continues the initiative of dissemination of innovations that improve the Engineering‐Computers‐Science higher education. ICIE is a major annual international conference devoted to improvements in education. It is an ideal forum for sharing ideas, learning about new developments in education, and interacting with colleagues worldwide.

PEOPLECERT Commiting to the Code of Best Practices for Women in ICT

More than 50 companies -such as Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, France-Telecom, Google, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft,Οrange, Panasonic and SAP- have signed the ‘‘Code of Best Practices for Women and Technology’’- committing themselves to implement actions to eliminate women’s underrepresentation in the ICT sector. Since December 2010, the PEOPLECERT Group has recognized the problem and has been participating in the European Commission’s initiative by signing the Code of Best Practices for women in ICT.
Support for women returners across Europe through e-learning

Throughout Europe, women returners make up a significant proportion of the potential labour pool and yet are often overlooked or can lack the confidence to return to employment following a career break. More support is needed to assist women to develop the confidence and skills necessary to effectively return to work in order to ensure this group of talent is not lost from the European labour market.
