The international design fair Interieur06, which took place from 13 until 22 October 2006 at the Xpo halls in Kortrijk, has reached its aim. More than 100.000 visitors came to see the international fair which gathers national as well as international designers. This edition, with the baseline 'design(ed) for you', showed more than 500 designlabels, producers and designers, who showed their creative and innovative productions.

During the official opening (which was also attended by her Majesty Queen Paola) Mrs. Fientje Moerman, Flemish minister of economy,  announced that Kortrijk will be the Flemish Competence Pool for Product Development and Industrial Design.

The central guest was Alfredo Häberli, a famous Swiss designer with Argentinian roots.
Also many firms from the Flemish region showed their latest and innovative products.
The Off programme of Interieur 06 showed the 18th result of the Competition 'Design for Europe'. Young designers (also students) got a chance to show their products to the public and to meet the (inter)national producers.
