The 1st AGM of the ECWT confirms the leadership and further strengthens the rapidly growing multi stakeholder organization

                                                             

 

 

 

The 1st Annual General Meeting of the European Centre for Women and Technology was held the 9th of October 2009 in Brussels. The ECWT that was set up during summer 2008 with 16 members has a bit more than a year later 44 member organizations  and some individual members. 21 were represented at the AGM.

Members of the ECWT were pleased to note the quick and substantial increase of the number of members and voted for some modifications of the statutes to reflect this positive development of the organization. Some of the key decisions taken include:

  • Adoption of a Code of Conduct to regulate key issues in regard to tendering, sponsorship and communication
  • Membership for both organizations and individuals
  • Membership fee based on stakeholder background
  • Increasing the Executive group from 5 to 7
  • Compensation to the Executive group members depending on the annual actionplan and budget approved by the AGM
  • Confirming on-line member participation as a basic membership requirement to strengthen the ECWT as a virtual mega-community

The Executive group that has lead the ECWT in the first 15 months was confirmed and extended. The leadership of the European Centre for Women and Technology for the next two years:
