The start-up meeting of the Norwegian National Point of Contact resulted in broad national overview of key Norwegian public, private actors, academias and NGO's efforts to support the women and technology issues in Norway.
The Norwegian government has during recent years taken several decisions of major importance to support women's participation in the economy and the knowledge based society:
In 2007 Norway adopted a law introducing gender equity in company boards - see also the first results after two years. In 2008 the Norwegian government adopted an action plan with the goal to reach 40% female SME start-ups until the year 2013.
