Welcome to join a global community of excellence for female researchers in engineering coordinated by the US National Science Foundation (NSF), Georgia Institute of Technology, the Ohio State University and the European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT) the 12-14 September 2012 in Athens.
WIRES – Women’s International Research Engineering Summit was launched in year 2009 in Barcelona, Spain. The 2nd WIRES summit was organized in 2011 in Orlando, Florida, USA. WIRES is primarily an international summit for women who are interested in pursuing collaborative researching opportunities. The main objective of the annual summits is to enable meaningful and sustainable research exchanges between female engineers from around the world while identifying issues faced by females pursuing careers in engineering that could benefit from a global strategy.
In November 2011 NSF, GeorgiaTech and the Ohio State University and the European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT) have agreed to partner to organize WIRES 2012 in Athens and the next WIRES between 2012 and 2015. The target group for WIRES 2012: · Engineering Faculty
· Masters students
· Graduate Students
· PhD students · Post Doctoral Fellows
